Nizhny Novgorod region (The Volga Federal Districts)

Nizhny Novgorod region - the subject of the Russian Federation in the center of the European part of Russia. Is a part of the Volga Federal District. The administrative center - Nizhny Novgorod. It shares borders on the north-west with the Kostroma region, in the north-east - with the Kirov, in the east - with the Republic of Mari El and Chuvashia, in the south - with the Republic of Mordovia, in the south-west - with Ryazan region, in the west - with Vladimir and Ivanovo region. It is one of the largest regions of Central Russia. Area - 76 900 km, the length of the south-west to north-east - more than 400 km. Population — 3 297 047 people.
